The Tao, The Way of Life...

NICOLE HOLISTIC HEALER

Particularly in our current era, with today's global leaders, and over the past 200 years during the industrial and technological revolutions—where technological advancements appear to "enhance" human life—we, as a human race, have experienced a decline in harmony with nature.

"By transcending your own mind, you can avoid being ensnared by its net," states Dr. Hua Ching Ni, author of Tao: The Subtle Universal Law and the Integral Way of Life. This reminds me of a silkworm encasing itself in its cocoon, similar to how our minds cling to ideas, preconceptions, beliefs, thoughts, emotions, and feelings. Ultimately, we have the freedom to act because the essence of our being is soul/spirit, and our mind is connected with nature, "the cosmic mother of the universe." Only then can we intensely and naturally focus to achieve health, harmony, and the best outcomes.

"Every person possesses creativity, productivity, progressiveness, orderliness, and harmony. Any unusual thoughts or actions that stray from the natural universal moral order of harmony, balance, and productivity will inevitably provoke a negative reaction from the corresponding universal energies, just as a shadow follows its form." The illusion of separation exists, and by accepting this illusion, you also accept separation; that is, the Matrix. The mind individualizes subject and object, so we must be extremely cautious about our thoughts, intentions, feelings, and behaviors concerning "this," "that," and "the other."

For instance, earlier today I watched an Instagram reel featuring a young Hawaiian student who was in tears on her graduation day from Eastlake High School in 2024 in Chula Vista. She had her traditional leis draped over her graduation cap and around her neck when more than a dozen staff members and a security guard escorted her out of the graduation line. She was informed that she had to decide between keeping her leis and leaving the graduation or removing them and proceeding with the other students.

Having lived on Maui throughout 2024, this situation deeply saddens and shocks me. Anyone with a mindset of tolerance, acceptance, love, and harmony would recognize that flowers are traditional ornaments in many cultures, symbolizing beauty, life, and joy. The idea that these flowers were perceived as “dangerous” or insulting, rather than as symbols of celebration, is incomprehensible to me. Moreover, it is legally required to allow all cultures to express their traditions equally and freely. The fact that this occurred so recently in America, a supposedly "tolerant" country, and in Southern California, is utterly absurd. There is no evidence of any retribution or training for the staff involved. This highlights how a mindset dominated by control, intolerance, and fear can lead to disaster and division.

What diverges from nature (such as the atomic bomb) leads to destruction, yet nature always finds a way to restore itself to balance. “To reform a selfish, ruthless person who defies the universal laws of natural physics is to destroy a demon; to educate someone in a strong sense of moral responsibility and adherence to the subtle laws of life is to guide them in becoming a divine being,” says Dr. Ni. The issues in our lives are generally not caused by severely immoral behavior, but rather by our unconscious breach of the correct order of energy (i.e., the flow).

In my present life circumstances, I face challenges in human relationships. I must keep in mind that the goal of all this is to achieve self-mastery and inner peace, along with "patience and progressiveness." It's important to be kind yet smart, and to balance yin and yang emotions and actions, such as sentiment (yin) and joy (yang), worry (yin) and anger (yang), ensuring not to lean too much to one side.

I believe I have more difficulty with yang expressions; fear of conflict and negative interactions or reactions, and the fear of rejection and abandonment are my main obstacles to forming strong, close, and intimate relationships with those I care about (who I feel struggle to understand me). Perhaps I need more explanation, experience, and demonstration in my life to understand and be understood…

The best attitude I can take for my future practice is to take an empirically provable stance using observation and experience rather than theory or pure logic. Mastering energy (Qi) and using it as a tool to achieve my desired outcome... This is my biggest study.
